A laundry machine cabinet comprises side wall panels 11, 12 secured to the edges of parallel front, bulkhead and rear panels 12, 29, 38, a horizontal elevated plate 43 secured between the bulkhead and rear panels, a tubular element 52A secured between an opening in the front panel and the bulkhead, the horizontal plate 43 carrying bearing means 53. 54 for the shaft 55 of a basket 58, Fig. 2 (not shown) mounted within the tubular element. As shown, panels 10, 11, 12 are formed from one sheet of material. Panel 38 may have an opening for access to the driving mechanism.
