Abstract
1,050,051. Toy boats. M. I. GLASS [trading at MARVIN GLASS & ASSOCIATES], Feb. 10, 1965 [Feb. 14, 1964], No. 5758/65. Heading A6S. A self-propelled toy boat has wheels 46 driven by an electric motor 62 controlled by a switch 66 and battery 68 and is characterised by the body being formed in two telescoping sections 112 and 110 which are movable relative to one another by the motor. When the body is extended, hatches 42, 44 and 56 are automatically raised to reveal rockets 50, depth charges 52 and torpedoes 54. A control lever 64 moves a driving pinion 88 into engagement with various gears and racks whereby the boat is propelled forwardly or rearwardly or the body sections are extended or contracted. A radar scanner 40 is operated intermittently by a pair of wheels 48 which are swivelable by means of wings 170 to set the direction of movement of the boat. The armaments are spring-loaded and are fired upon release of retaining catches. A noisemaker and a bell are operated intermittently from the gearing.
