Abstract

1,048,932. Windscreen wipers. TRICOFOLBERTH Ltd. July 19, 1963 [July 19, 1962], No. 19101/63. Divided out of 1,048,931. Heading A4F. The wiping element of a windscreen wiper comprises a body having one or more longitudinal grooves in which one or more rubber wiper lips is or are engaged, the body 12 being formed of harder material than the rubber wiping lips 14 e.g. plastics material or a harder rubber. A backing strip 16 is secured to the body by projections on the body passing through slots in the strip and engages under beads 18 on the lips to hold them in position. A harness is connected to the wiping element by lugs 22 which pass through apertures in the wiping element and backing strip and are bent over longitudinally. Venting holes 23 are provided in the backing strip and in the body 12 to promote suction in the wiping action.
