Abstract
1,047,818. Gas lighter filling valves. YOSHI. NAGA PRINCE KABUSHIKI KAISHA. Aug. 4, 1964 [May 1, 1964], No. 31144/64. Heading F4F. A gas lighter filling valve has a part 4 screwthreaded into the lighter body 1, 2, a valve member 12 being pressed against valve seat 19 by internal pressure and being opened by the fuel pressure in chamber 18 when a filling tank is inserted in recess 7 over inlet needle 17, the member 12 being recessed at 14 to enable fuel to flow to the interior of the lighter. Gasified fuel can escape from chamber 18 through port 22, porous block 23 and annular passage 16; this escaping gas cools the valve for a more efficient filling of the lighter. In Figs. 1, 2 (not shown), a simplified valve has no escape passage or inlet needle and the valve member is made of rubber or a plastics material.
