Abstract

104,552. Panther, F. March 14, 1916. Furniture; cradles; folding models.-Folding or collapsible toy furniture, such as washstands, chairs, cradles, &c., are made rigid by means of one or more blocks of wood or other rigid material adapted to fit the interior of the open frame of the toy and to be held in position by smaller blocks or strips secured to the inside of the framework; or the blocks may be secured to the overlapping tops or bases of the toys. Fig. 1 shows a washstand with the back b, front a, and sides c made of cardboard &c. and hinged together by strips of fabric in the usual manner. The frame is secured in the open position by two blocks e, f of wood &c., which are of the same area as the interior of the frame, the lower block f @@@ting upon blocks or strips g, h attached to the interior of the front and back of the frame, while the upper block is attached to the underside of the overlapping top i of the washstand. The frame of a toy cradle, Fig. 3, is secured in the open position by a block j of wood, which carries the rockers k and is inserted in the bottom of the toy.
