A casing 17 for a lighting fixture is detachably mounted in an opening in a ceiling 10 by one or more clips, the or each clip having a first leg 26 detachably secured to the ceiling, and a second leg 25 extending away from the support and making resilient engagement with part of the wall 18 of the lighting fixture casing to secure the latter against movement through the opening in an axial direction to withdraw it from the ceiling. The casing wall 18 has vertical slots 22 corresponding to each. clip mounted on the ring 12 of the ceiling.
