Abstract

1,042,077. Inductors. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. June 26, 1964, No. 26501/64. Heading HIT. An inductor has the distance apart of its inducting turns arranged to produce a predetermined configuration of its magnetic field by varying the width of the insulation 2 on one side of the conducting strip or wire 1. The insulation may be polypropylene moulded around the conductor and subsequently cut to conform with a template. The insulation need not enclose the conductor. The coil and/or the formes may be wetted with a solvent of the insulating material or an adhesive. A movable high permeability core may be used.
