The moving coil comprises a good conductor, preferably copper wire, interspersed with ferromagnetic material. The coil of copper wire may be wound either in parallel with a ferro-magnetic wire or in grooves in a ferro-magnetic former having a longitudinal slit to prevent its acting as a short-circuited winding.
