Abstract
A solid saponaceous low-temperature bleaching detergent composition comprises (a) a per compound containing hydrogen peroxide of crystallization, particularly alkali metal percarbonates, perpyrophosphates, persilicates and especially perborates, and (b) either (i) a reactive ester of the type described in Specification 836,988, preferably sodium p-acetoxybenzene sulphonate, or (ii) a reactive amide of the type described in Specification 855,735, especially tetraacetyl methylenediamine or N,N-diacetyl-p-toluidide, the composition having a pH below 9.5, preferably below 19.2, as a 0.6% aqueous solution at 20 DEG C. The soap is suitably a sodium soap derived from a fat charge comprising 59% tallow, 26% nut oil and 15% soft oil. The composition may also contain sodium carbonate, silicate, pyrophosphate, tripolyphosphate and carboxymethylcellulose, borax, optical bleach, perfume, germicide and lather improvers.ALSO:A solid saponaceous low temperature bleaching composition comprises (a) a per compound containing hydrogen peroxide of crystallization, particularly alkali metal percarbonates, perpyrophosphates, persilicates and especially perborates, and (b) either (i) a reactive ester of the type described in Specification 836,988, preferably sodium p-acetoxybenzene sulphonate, or (ii) a reactive amide of the type described in Specification 855,735, especially tetraacetyl methylene diamine or N, N-diacetyl-p-toluidide, the composition having a pH below 9.5, preferably below 9.2, as a 0.6% aqueous solution at 20 DEG C. The composition may also contain sodium carbonate, silicate, pyroor tripoly-phosphate, and carboxymethylcellulose, borax, optical bleach, perfume, germicides and lather improvers.
