Abstract
1,242,106. Bleaching textiles. COLGATEPALMOLIVE CO. 22 Oct., 1968 [24 Oct., 1967], No. 50015/68. Heading D1P. [Also in Division C5] Fabrics are treated with a composition comprising a "water-soluble peroxide bleaching agent" (defined as a bleaching agent which yields hydrogen peroxide on dissolution in water) and a water-soluble alkyl or aryl chloroformate. Exemplified "peroxides" are sodium perborate, sodium percarbonate, and sodium persilicate. Preferred chloroformates are those in which R is methyl, ethyl, propyl, isobutyl or phenyl. Optional ingredients include anionic, non-ionic, cationic or amphoteric surfactants and alkaline detergency builders.
