Abstract

1,040,583. Counting apparatus. CHAMBERLAIN & HOOKHAM Ltd. June 18, 1964 [June 27, 1963], No. 25568/63. Heading G4D. The transfer mechanism from the lowest order to the next is of the snap-action type while the drive to the lowest order includes a lost-motion device to provide the necessary compensation. The drive to the lowest order wheel 10, Fig. 3, comprises a pin 21 bearing against one end of a slot 10d. At transfer by Geneva-type mechanism a roller 22 drops from above hub 10e against edge 10f to provide a snap-action. The driving pin 21 is left behind to rest against the other end of slot 10d. In a modification, Fig. 5, as disclosed in Specifications 1,040,581 and 1,040,582, the driven disc 33 of the lowest wheel has a toothless portion 33a providing the lost-motion device and a roller in a slot 33b provides the snapaction.
