Abstract

1,035,454. Tubular incandescent lamps. ZOLTA ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Nov. 22, 1963 [Jan. 3, 1963], No. 406/63. Heading H1F. In a single- or double-ended tubular incandescent lamp with a longitudinal filament supported at intervals by supports extending from a spine, at least one lead-in wire is formed into a coil which grips one end of the spine, the inner portion extending from the coil being connected to the filament. Fig. 2 shows one end of a double-ended lamp in which the lead-in wire 5 is curled round a glass rod 3 carrying support wires 4 for the filament 1, leaving an upstanding end to which the filament is attached. The opposite end is similar. In a single-ended lamp, one lead-in wire is arranged as above, the other passing through the rod 3. The end of the wire is formed into a loop engaging the conical end of the lamp envelope and is then curled round the rod 3 and connected to the filament. The lead-in wires are made of nickel wire.
