Abstract
1,035,318. Mounting electrical equipment. ELLIOTT BROTHERS (LONDON) Ltd. Jan. 15, 1964 [Oct. 16, 1962], No. 39217/62. Heading H1R. Electronic apparatus in frames 27 ... 30 is mounted in a tray 11, the frames being slid into the tray on runners 14 made from channel members riveted to the base of the tray and so providing paths for wiring which enters through grommets in the back of the tray. At the front of each frame is a hinged terminal block 15; cables are attached to screws 16 which, when the block 15 is upright, are screwed into terminal bushes on the frame. A cover 21 is then swung up to be secured by press-stud 22; a resilient insulating insert inside cover 21 prevents this securing unless all screws 16 are screwed home. The cover may extend to the top of the frame or, as shown, windows 24 may be left to give visual access to alarm devices; alternatively, controls or indicating devices may occupy part of the space at the front of the frame. Each frame comprises side members 25 and a top member 17 ... 20, and has a dowel pin at the rear which is located in a bush in the back of the tray 11. The arrangement is especially suitable for use in aircraft.
