Abstract

918,676. Two-part couplings. SMITH Ltd., A. K. & L.G. Aug. 4, 1959 [Aug. 1, 1958], No. 24830/58. Class 38 (1). A component 1, such as a transformer or choke, carries an insulating plate 3 on which are mounted contacts 4 which co-operate with spring-loaded contacts 6 on a further insulating plate 2 on a chassis or frame when the component is attached thereto by screws 7. Contacts 6 may comprise spring-pressed balls and the ends of contacts 4 may be recessed to receive them. The contacts may be asymmetrically arranged so that correct connection of the contacts can be effected only when the plates are properly oriented. Alternatively one plate may carry one or more locating pins received in apertures in the other plate.
