Abstract

Firing-appliances - Consists of trigger mechanism having t w o sears the first of which is operated by the pull of the trigger, and the second, tc fire the gun, by the release of the trigger. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, the two sears 1, 7 are pivoted to the trigger blade 4, the first sear 1, which normally holds the firing-pin 9 at cock, being also pivoted to the breech-body. When the trigger is pulled, it first raises the sear 7 and then depresses the first sear 1, thereby allowing the firing-pin to move forwards a short distance until it is held by the second sear. When the trigger is released, its spring 3 causes it to rotate and depress the sear 7, thereby firing the gun.
