Abstract

1,034,029. Bearings. EISENWERK ROTHE ERDE G.m.b.H. May 20, 1965 [May 25, 1964], No. 21475/65. Heading F2A. In a crossed-roller bearing having respective pairs of race wires 4 for rollers 5, 6 arranged on respective diagonally-opposed axes, the wires 4 are each of triangular cross-section and each have a roller-engaging surface the width of which is at least equal to the width of its associated rollers. Each wire 4 may be chamfered at its edges to facilitate insertion in the race-rings 1 or 2, 3; may be made up of a number of segments; may be freely located or adhered to the race-rings; and may be ground on all faces prior to assembly in the bearing or have the faces which are to abut the race-rings ground prior to assembly and the roller-engaging face ground after assembly. The bedding surfaces for the wires are ground on the race-rings and recesses 7 are provided for clearance purposes.
