Abstract

1,031,376. Two-part couplings. PLESSEY CO. Ltd. April 22, 1963 [April 24, 1962], No. 15539/62. Heading H2E. The housing for an electrical connector consists of an integral, insulating moulding, e.g. polypropylene, for both plug and socket members. Each member is formed with an integral flange 6 and 7, the male member having a boss 8 with a circumferential groove 9 facing the female member which has a collar 10 having internal beading 11 to snap into groove 9 when the members are mated. Keying projections 12 and 13 are provided on diagonally opposite corners of the flanges 6 and 7 so that the members can only be mated in one relative position. Cylindrical bores 14 are provided to carry a cable clamping member.
