Abstract
1,029,808. Pistons. COMPAGNIE GENERALE D'ELECTRICITE. June 26, 1964 [July 3, 1963], No. 26482/64. Heading F2T. [Also in Division H1] Apparatus comprising a cylindrical container 101 divided in two by a movable partition 105 having liquid on one side, has the partition 105 secured to the wall of a hollow flexible annular body 107 which is secured to the container wall at 109 and contains a rigid cylindrical holding member 108. The member 108 may have rollers on its edges to facilitate sliding of the flexible body 107 when partition 105 moves. Body 107 may be filled with liquid. A visible float 127 is lifted by any liquid which leaks past partition 105. Movement of partition 105 is caused by expansion or contraction of e.g. oil in a transformer tank which is connected to oil in the cylindrical container through a flexible pipe 131. Air leaking through partition 105 can be removed by removing by removing stopper 114 with body 107 wedged in its highest position. The liquid may be contained in the lower half of container 101 (Fig. 1, not shown).
