Abstract

1,029,691. Electronic counters. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.H. Jan. 2, 1963 [Jan. 9, 1962], No. 230/63. Heading G4A. A cascade counter or accumulator comprises for each binary stage an adder such as +0, an output store such as AS0 controlled by a clock pulse t1 to feed the consequent sum signal to a related intermediate store such as ZS0, the intermediate store being controlled by a further clock pulse t2 to feed back into the same adder +0. The adder feeds carry signals as appropriate to the next higher adder +1. The lowest denomination adder receives impulses to be counted on lead b0 or the equivalent of a carry lead iieo. Connections between adders may include amplifiers V. In a modification a pair of adders such as ii0 and s0 are provided in each stage in respect of the carry and sum, respectively. Stores ZS0. AS0 provide sufficient amplification to dispense with amplifiers between stages. The adders may be modified (Figs. 8, 9, not shown) to obviate error in the case of a mixing clock pulse. The counter is cleared by cutting off the clock pulses.
