Abstract
<PICT:1028135/C1/1> In a method of manufacturing an electron tube, an apertured glass foot 7 is slid over stiff contact pins 2 and is located in the end of a glass tube 8. Heat is applied so that the glass of the foot fuses to the tube 8 and to the contact pins. The pins 2 may be of copper-coated nickel-iron, and are preferably coated with borax for sealing to foot 7 which may be of sintered glass.
