Abstract

1,024,424. Inductors. E. K. COLE Ltd., and A. E. KING. Oct. 18, 1962 [Oct. 19, 1961], No. 37461/61. Heading H1T. An inductance coil assembly comprises a coi<SP>1</SP> 1 enclosed within a pot-type magnetic core forming a closed magnetic circuit and comprising sleeve 4 and end-members 3 having a central core 2 of magnetic material and a ferrite slug 7 being longitudinally adjustable to vary the spacing between the slug and the adjacent end-wall of the core to vary the inductance of the coil. Slug 7 is screwthreaded into bush 6, and if bush 6 is of a non- magnetic material, slug 7 is permanently magnetized. Disc 10 of magnetic material may be provided to increase the sensitivity of the coil to variations in the slug position. The coil connections may be similar to those shown in Specification 962,009.
