A curved window 1 for a vehicle is vertically slidable in arcuate guides (not shown) and is operated by an arm 2 pivoted at 3 and connected at its other end to a member 6 slidable in a guide member 5 attached to the lower edge 4 of the window. The arm 2 is rotatable by a winder (not shown) in a plane chordal to the path of movement of the edge 4 of the window. The guide 5 is inclined to the window to compensate for the variation of the distance between the paths of the other end of the arm 2 and the window as the latter is raised.
