1,022,240. Belt gearing. ETABLISSEMENTS THEODORE HOUBEN S.A. Dec. 13, 1963 [Dec. 17, 1962; Dec. 3, 1963], No. 49385/63. Heading F2Q. A V-belt comprises a core 1 of elastic material to the outer surface of which is bonded one or more layers of a synthetic fibre-forming polymer which may be a polyamide or a polyester resin. The core may be of natural or synthetic rubber and may be notched longitudinally. Preferably the bonding agent has a polyvinyl chloride base, and is the same as that used for bonding the plies of a multi-ply layer together. In a modification, a layer of polyamide is sandwiched between two parts of the layer 1.
