Abstract

1308754 Laminates CONTINENTAL GUMMI-WERKE AG 19 April 1971 [16 Feb 1070] 21679/71 Heading B5N A method of producing a conveyer belt of vulcanized natural or synthetic rubber having embedded reinforcing members and including an inner belt core 4 with an outer cover layer 5, 6 on each surface thereof which comprises forming and vulcanizing the belt core and cover layers individually and independently of one another, assembling the layers and bonding them by adhesive means. The core and cover layers may be produced containing no curing agent, or an amount of curing agent which is insufficient to cure the adhesive. The curing or cross-linking agent may be incorporated in vulcanized rubber layers or other carrier elements (8), which are inserted as intermediate layers between the core of the belt and the cover layers. The adhesive may be provided on the core and/or cover layers and/or the intermediate layers. The belt core 4 may contain steel wires 7. The exemplified adhesive is poly- 2-chloro-butadiene. The conveyer belt may be assembled at the site of use of the conveyer installation.
