Abstract
1,021,827. Cutting spectacle lenses. SOC. DES LUNETIERS, COTTET, POICHET TAGNON & CIE. Dec. 13,1962 [Dec. 15, 1961; Sept. 24,1962], No. 47138/62. Heading G2J. In order to determine the outline which must be cut out of a lens for mounting in a spectacle frame so that the optical centre of the lens is aligned with the pupil of the wearer's eye at the geometrical centre of the frame, lens and frame are superposed, placed in position on the wearer, and then photographed,as in Figs .1 or 2,(not shown) by some means such as a Polaroid (Trade Mark) camera which produces an immediate copy. This is then inspected, using a projector if necessary. Fig. 5 shows an example, in which the uncut lens A is superposed on the mount F whose geometric centre is at C. By measuring the distances a, b between the wearer's pupil B and the point C, the optician can cut the lens correctly.
