Abstract

1,018,887. Microwave couplers; travelling wave tubes. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. Jan. 20, 1964 [Jan. 18, 1963], No. 2378/64. Headings H1D and H1W. A vacuum-tight waveguide coupling comprises a curved slot 4 of length greater than #/2 and a dielectric sealing member. The member may be a disc mounted in the wall of one of the waveguides, or between them, or mounted in a copper ring between the two waveguides, or the disc may be circular and carry metal coatings to define the coupling slot. The slot may also be in the dividing wall of two axially aligned waveguides. The coupling may be the outlet coupling to a travelling wave tube.
