Abstract

1,017,885. Cooling engines. AUSTIN MOTOR CO. Ltd. Nov. 25, 1964 [Oct. 15, 1963], No. 40561/63. Heading B7H. A motor vehicle has a front mounted engine and a forwardly inclined radiator 4, air passing through the radiator matrix entering from a duct 3 and passing out through louvres in the side valances being prevented from entering the engine compartment by a partition 10. Cooling air for the engine compartment is taken through separate ducts 22 having admission apertures 23 in a panel 16 supporting the radiator and exhaust apertures 24 into the engine compartment. The bonnet, when in position, rests upon sealing strips upon the top of partition 10.
