1,016,041. Reciprocating pumps and motors. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. Dec. 23, 1963 [Jan. 23, 1963], No. 2919/63. Heading F1A. In rotary cylinder block swash plate pump or motor, the rotor is supported at one end in a self-aligning bearing 4 and at the other end on a truncated spherical projection 7 formed on an end plate 3, which includes the inlet and outlet ducts 13, 14. Fluid under pressure is fed to a recess 18 partially to balance the force in the cylinders and ports which urges the block 6 towards the plate 3. This force is further resisted by the axial components of the liquid pressure acting in the ports 17, and grooves 20, 21.
