Abstract

1,015,168. Hydraulic reciprocating motors. SOCIETE D'APPLICATIONS DES MACHINES MOTRICES. Jan. 2, 1964 [Jan. 2, 1963], No. 166/64. Heading F1A. In a motor comprising a cylinder block 5, Fig. 1, mounted on a shaft 2 rotatable in a housing 1 and having pistons 7 engaging a multi-lobed cam track 8 through roller assemblies 10, distribution is effected by an annular valve plate 14, Fig. 2, held against rotation and urged towards the cylinder block by spring-loaded sleeves 15 located in cavities in the valve plate and the motor housing and having through bores 19 for rectilinear flow of liquid between the motor cylinders 6 and inlet and exhaust connections 11, 12. The valve plate has elongated ports 20, Fig. 3, comprising an inlet port and an exhaust port for each cam lobe, communication with inlet and exhaust connections 11 and 12, respectively, reversal of which reverses the motor rotation. Hydraulic balancing is provided by ridges 28, 29, 30 and 31 on the valve plate. The cam track is of generally sinusoidal shape but flattened at the peaks and troughs.
