Abstract

1,014,031. Ring-spinning apparatus. ERNEST SCRAGG & SONS Ltd. Mar. 16,1962 [March 16, 1961], No. 9592/61. Heading D1D. In ring-spinning apparatus, the ring 11 is driven by contact with a driving-member 13 which has a rim and is rotatable in bearings which surround its stem 16. The latter is engaged by a belt 17 and the bearing portion 15<SP>1</SP> is carried in an arm 18 pivoted on a post to which is also pivoted a member 21 carrying two rotary members 15 of similar construction to the member 13. The members 18 and 21 are connected by a spring 20 and a further spring urges the parts 21, 18 towards the belt. The guide 24 is fixed to the ring and the bobbin is rotatably mounted, axially reciprocated and braked to tension the yarn.
