Abstract

1,013,660. Folding seats. BARKASWERKE V.E.B. Nov. 11, 1964, No. 45979/64. Heading A4J. [Also in Division B7] A folding seat for ambulance vehicles is attached to the vehicle body by articulated members 2, is foldable back against the vehicle wall 3 when not in use and comprises a seat frame 1 reinforced against twist by struts 4, 5 and forming two separate seat surfaces 6, 7 between which a support 9, 11 is articulated at 8 to the seat frame and at 10 to the wall 3. The support includes a supporting leg 9 and an articulated arm 11 to which a two-sided backrest 13 is secured. The seat frame 1, leg 9, arm 11 and wall 3 form a four-bar linkage and the leg 9 and articulated members 2 form a three-point support. The backrest 13 has transverse recesses 14 which receive the seat frame 1 in folded position, Fig. 3, and a longitudinal recess which receives the leg 9 in the folded position. When the seat is in use the arm 11 may be received by a holder 16 fixed on a supporting frame 17 for a stretcher.
