Abstract

1,009,297. Fuelling reactors. COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE. June 23, 1964 [July 10, 1963], No. 25902/64. Heading G6C. [Also in Division F2] A metal tube as shown in Fig. 4 is built up from one or more continuous metal strips (see Division F2) for use in the handling unit 50 of a refuelling machine for a neuclear reactor with horizontal channels (not shown). A frame 54 is carried on rollers 58 running on rails 60 which may be stationary or forming part of a trolley moveable in two orthogonal directions at right angles to the channels to be serviced. At 56 is mounted a device whereby two pre-stamped metal strips 12 and 12<SP>1</SP> are formed continuously into a tube which is secured by means of a demountable coupling (not shown) to a grappling apparatus 62, a flexible electric cable 64 which is connected to the control desk. A conventional magazine of the rotary drum type can be mounted on the nose 52 of the unit 50.
