[Also in Division A2] Heat-sterilized milk is heat-sealed into a container formed of a stiffening backing layer of paper coated internally with a film of polyethylene, polypropylene or the like of a selected thickness, preferably being of a weight between 10 and 150 gm. per sq. metre, to prevent passage of bacteria liable to contaminate the milk while permitting permeation of oxygen sufficient, during a selected storage period, to reduce the deleterious effect on the taste of the milk introduced by sterilizing.
