Abstract

1,006,429. Two-port couplings. F. A. SARNMARK. May 3, 1962, No. 17056/62. Heading H2E. A connector comprises a socket housing 5 adapted to carry an insulating body provided with contact sockets and a plug housing 1 adapted to carry an insulating body provided with contact pins, a rib 11 and a corresponding slot 4 constituting a guide for the housings, and a settable means for ensuring correct coupling comprising a bar 2 which can be preset in any one of several positions N, W, X, Y, Z, and corresponding grooves 6, designated N<SP>1</SP>, W<SP>1</SP>, X<SP>1</SP>, Y<SP>1</SP>, Z<SP>1</SP>, with means for blocking all of grooves 6 except the one corresponding to the preset position of bar 2. Grooves 6 are blocked by removable bars 7, one end of which fits into a recess in the bottom of the groove, the other end carrying a projection which fits into a hole in housing 5. Bar 2 is carried on a spring-loaded ring 2a in a slot 15 in housing 1 and the end of bore 2 carries a stud 12 which fits into depressions 3 corresponding to the various setting positions. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 8, not shown), bar 2 fits into slots corresponding to the setting positions. Two or more bars 2 may be provided on ring 2a with a corresponding number of unblocked grooves.
