Abstract
1,006,067. Remote control devices. PARISTOR Ltd. and D. G. SNOWDON. Feb. 21, 1962 [Feb. 27,1961], No. 7154/61. Heading G1A. A flash emitting element in a slave photographic flash unit is actuated by a current change in the circuit of a semi-conducting device caused by the flash of a master unit. The slave unit shown comprises a photo-transistor T1 whose output in response to a flash of light from the master unit is amplified by transistors T2 and T3 and is applied as a control signal to the base of a power transistor T4 the emitter and collector of which is connected across a series circuit consisting of a flash bulb L1 and a large capacitor C1. In response to a control signal on the base of T4 the capacitor is thus discharged through the bulb L1 and a light flash is emitted. The power transistor T4 may be replaced by a silicon controlled rectifier or any other semi-conductor device.
