Abstract

1,005,682. Ball joints. AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS CO. Ltd. April 23, 1963, No. 15999/63. Heading E2F. [Also in Division F2] A ball and socket joint is sealed by an elastomeric boot 1 which is secured at one end to the socket 8 by internal annular projections 7 on the boot engaging complementary grooves in the socket. The other end of the boot is clamped around the ball pin 11 by a spring ring and has an internal groove engaged by a shoulder 16 on the pin.
