Abstract

1,003,880. Supplying liquid fuel to burners. W. FISCHBACH, [trading as BLECHUND METALLWARENFABRIK ROBERT FISCHBACH KOMM.-GES.]. July 1, 1964 [July 1, 1963], No. 27240/64. Heading F4T. A tank 1 in which fuel-oil is maintained at a constant level by a float valve 4 is connected by a pipe 15 to an air blower 16 supplying combustion air to a burner 7 and a riser 12, extends from the top of the tank to below the level of the oil to define a space 14 which is open to atmosphere through holes 13 in the top of the tank, and a control pipe 8 having a lateral orifice 9 through which oil flows to the burner is disposed within the riser 12. The oil in the riser 12 is therefore at a higher level than that in the tank 1 when the blower is operating. The control pipe 8 is threaded into an adaptor 5 fastened to the base of the tank 1 and having a collar 10 which is disposed inside the riser 12 and which extends a little above the oil in the tank 1. The float valve 4 controls the inflow of oil through a pipe 2 and is operated by a float 3 having an arm 20 disposed beneath a spindle 24 carried on the pivoted armature 22 of an electromagnet 21. When the burner is switched on the electromagnet so de-energized for a short time so that the spindle drops on to the arm 20 to raise the oil level to give a larger supply to the burner. The burner comprises spaced plates 17 between which an air/oil mixture emerges.
