A skip 10 is made of a plastics material reinforced with fibre glass and is supported by a metal stand 20, the shapes of the skip and stand being such that several can be nested together. The skip is rectangular in crosssection and has an angular steel band 14 welded to which are two flat steel strips 15. A lid 16 has a channel 17, which seals with a rubber bead, and is held down by clips 18. Lugs 19 locate a superposed stand. Catches 22 attach the skip to the stand and a discharge valve 13 is provided.
