Abstract

1,000,418. Rotary I.C. engines. REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT. Nov. 27, 1961 [Dec. 27, 1960], No. 42380/61. Heading FIF. A rotary-piston internal combustion engine comprises a two-lobed rotor 2 rotating eccentrically inside a three-lobed casing 1 to form three working chambers 7, the inlets and exhausts of which are controlled by valves 9, 11 operated by a single one-lobed cam 18. Three tappets 25 are provided, each of which operates the inlet valve A and exhaust valve E (see Fig. 2) of two adjacent working chambers through a pushrod 28 and rocker shaft 33. The cam 18 is driven at the same speed as the rotor by an epicyclic gear train 14, 19, 17.
