Abstract

The present invention relates to a chair (1), comprising a frame (2) including a seat (3) and a backrest (4), and a base (5) including a front portion (6) and a rear portion (7), characterized in that the rear portion (7) of the base (5) is hinged to the frame (2), between: a raised position (P1) of the chair (1), wherein the rear portion (7) comprises means ground support (S) only on the back of the backrest (4); and an inclined position of the chair (1), wherein the rear portion (7) comprises ground support means (S) both on the back and the front of the backrest (4).

Description

ARMCHAIR

The present invention relates to an armchair, tilting between a raised position and an inclined position.

In the context of the present invention, the term armchair designates any device intended for the seat of at least one person, for example a straight chair, a lounge chair, a lounge chair, a sofa, a bench seat, etc.

Conventionally, an armchair comprises a frame including a seat and a back, and a base including a front part and a rear part. Each part of the base generally includes two feet resting on the ground. Thus, the chair rests on the ground stably on four feet.

. 15 In a basic version, the different parts of the chair are irremovable with respect to each other.

Alternatively, some parts of the chair can be movable relative to each other.

For example, it is known to articulate the backrest on the seat, which allows the inclination of the backrest to be modified. The backrest can be tilted backwards, at the discretion of the wheelchair user. In the case of a lounge chair, the backrest can be folded down on the seat, for easy storage.

According to another example, known from document US2325716, the rear legs can tilt to modify the inclination of the chair. However, the feet are fitted with springs whose elasticity deteriorates over time. In addition, in the raised position as in the reclined position, the feet are supported on the ground on the front of the backrest, which is not optimal for the stability of the chair.

The aim of the present invention is to provide an improved armchair, in particular in terms of ergonomics, comfort and stability.

To this end, the subject of the invention is an armchair, comprising: a frame including a seat and a backrest, and a base including a front part and a rear part, characterized in that the rear part of the base is articulated on the frame , Between :

a raised position of the chair, in which the rear part has means of support on the ground only on the back of the backrest; and an inclined position of the chair, in which the rear part comprises means for supporting the ground both on the rear and the front of the backrest.

Thus, the invention makes it possible to improve the stability of the chair in an inclined position, in which the user is likely to rest with all his weight both on the seat and on the backrest.

According to other advantageous characteristics of the invention, taken individually or in combination:

.15 - The rear part of the base includes two lateral feet articulated on the chassis.

- The two feet are secured to each other when tilting.

- Each leg has: a hinged top on the frame, a first branch which extends between the top and a first end, and a second branch which extends between the top and a second end. In the raised position, the first end forms a support element on the floor on the back of the backrest, while the second branch is positioned along the backrest. In the reclined position, the first end and the second end simultaneously form two ground support elements on the back and front of the backrest.

- The rear part of the base has no spring.

- The rear part includes a rotation blocking system for the feet 70.

- The backrest includes two slides, a fixed plate and a movable plate between the slides, to adjust the height of the backrest.

- The backrest is fixed and not adjustable in height.

- The chassis includes two L-shaped lateral uprights, common to the seat and the backrest.

- The front part of the base includes two L-shaped feet, each with: a first branch secured to the seat and having a lower end constituting a support on the ground, and a second branch constituting an armrest.

The invention will be better understood on reading the description which follows, given solely by way of nonlimiting example and made with reference to the appended drawings in which:

Figure 1 is a perspective view, from the front and the right side, of a chair according to the invention, in the raised position;

Figure 2 is another perspective view, from the rear and the right side, of the chair of Figure 1;

Figure 3 is a side view along arrow III in Figure 1;

Figures 7 to 12 are views similar to Figures 1 to 6, respectively, showing the chair in an inclined position; and Figures 13 to 18 are views similar to Figures 7 to 12, respectively, showing the chair with raised backrest.

In Figures 1 to 18 is shown a chair 1 according to the invention, the inclination of which can be modified between a raised position P1 and a lowered position P2. The raised position P1 is shown in Figures 1 to 6, while the inclined position P2 is shown in Figures 7 to 18.

The armchair 1 comprises a frame 2 including a seat 3 and a back 4 provided for the seat of use. The chair also includes a base 5 including a front part 6 and a rear part 7 designed to rest on a ground surface S.

According to the invention, the rear part 7 of the base 5 is articulated on the chassis 2, between:

the raised position P1 of the chair 1, in which the part 7 rests on the ground S only on the rear of the backrest 4; and the inclined position P2 of the chair 1, in which the part 7 is in contact with the ground S both on the rear and the front of the backrest 4.

The chassis 2 comprises two L-shaped lateral uprights 20, common to the seat 3 and the backrest 4. The part 7 is articulated in the angle of the uprights 20, at the junction between the seat 3 and the backrest 4.

The seat 3 includes a frame 30 fixed between the uprights 20. The frame 30 may have an opening 31 or be full. The opening 31 may include a cane, a mulch, profiles provided to support a cushion, etc.

According to an optional embodiment shown in the figures, the backrest 4 can be adjustable in height. In the example of the figures, the backrest 4 comprises two slides 40, a fixed plate 41 and a movable plate 42. The user can raise or lower the plate 42 between the slides 40, to adjust the height of the backrest 4.

Preferably, the movable plate 42 is slidably mounted behind the fixed plate

41 so that it can be moved without disturbing the user of the wheelchair 1.

The movable plate 42 may include elements designed to come to rest in the upper part of the lateral uprights 20, when the movable plate 42 is raised. For example, these elements can be lateral bars 43 each provided with an outgoing ergo (not shown), coming to rest on the uprights 20.

Alternatively, the backrest 4 can be fixed and not adjustable in height. For example, the backrest 4 has a conventional configuration, with two vertical uprights 40 and a central part 41 disposed between the uprights 40. The part 41 can be perforated or not.

The front part 6 of the base 5 comprises two feet 60 in the shape of an L. Each foot 60 has two branches 61 and 62. The branch 61 is substantially vertical, being inclined towards the rear. The branch 61 is integral with the seat 3 and has a lower end 63 constituting a support on the ground S. The branch 62 is substantially horizontal and constitutes an armrest.

The rear part 7 of the base 5 comprises two lateral feet 70 articulated on the chassis 2.

Each foot 70 has a triangular profile, with a top 71, a first branch 72 and a second branch 73. The top 71 is articulated on the frame 2, at the junction between the seat 3 and the backrest 4. The branch 72 s extends between the summit 71 and one end 74, while the branch 73 extends between the summit 71 and one end 75.

In the raised position P1, the end 74 forms a support on the ground S on the rear of the backrest 4, while the branch 73 is positioned along the backrest 4.

In the inclined position P2, the ends 74 and 75 simultaneously form two ground supports S on the rear and the front of the backrest 4.

As the part 7 comprises two feet 70 arranged in parallel, the chair 1 is supported on the two ends 74 in the raised position P1, and presses on the four ends 74 and 75 in the inclined position P2. Thus, the chair 1 has optimum stability in all positions.

The rear part 7 also comprising only two transverse horizontal rods 80 connecting the two feet 70. Thus, the two feet 70 are integral with one another in tilting. A rod 80 extends between the branches 72, while the other rod 80 extends between the branches 73.

Preferably, the part 7 is devoid of springs, the elasticity of which may deteriorate over time. More preferably, the chair 1 is entirely devoid of springs.

Furthermore, the chair 1 can be shaped differently from Figures 1 to 18 without departing from the scope of the invention.

In a variant not shown, the feet 70 can be connected by transverse linear sections, which form a support on the ground over the entire width of the chair 1. In other words, the rear part 7 has linear and non-point support means.

According to another variant not shown, the ends 74 and 75 of each leg 70 can be connected by a third branch. Thus, in the inclined position P2 of the chair 1, the rear part 7 has linear and non-point support means.

According to another variant not shown, the feet 70 can be physically connected in a single monobloc module.

According to another variant not shown, the part 7 may be devoid of connecting elements between the feet 70, such as the rods 80. In this case, the user must tilt the feet 70 separately to modify the configuration of the chair 1 between the raised position P1 and the lowered position P2.

According to another variant, not shown, the rear part 7 may include a system for blocking the rotation of the feet 70 towards the inclined position P2, to avoid any tilting of the chair 1, in particular when the backrest 4 is raised.

According to another variant not shown, the backrest 4 can be fixed and not adjustable in height.

According to another variant not shown, a headrest can be mounted on the backrest 4. The headrest can be fixed or removable, for example by being clipped to the uprights 40 and / or the part 41.

In addition, the technical characteristics of the various embodiments and variants mentioned above may be, in whole or for some of them, combined together. Thus, the chair 1 can be adapted in terms of cost, functionality and performance.

Claims (10)

1. Armchair (1), comprising: - a frame (2) including a seat (3) and a backrest (4), and 5 - a base (5) including a front part (6) and a rear part (7), characterized in that the rear part (7) of the base (5) is articulated on the chassis (2), between: - a raised position (P1) of the chair (1), in which the rear part (7) comprises support means (74) on the ground (S) only on the rear of the 10 file (4); and - an inclined position (P2) of the chair (1), in which the rear part (7) comprises support means (74; 75) on the ground (S) both on the rear and the front of the backrest (4). 2. Armchair (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that the rear part (7) of the base (5) comprises two lateral feet (70) articulated on the frame (2). 3. Armchair (1) according to claim 2, characterized in that the two feet (70) are integral with one another in tilting (R1; R2). 4. Armchair (1) according to one of claims 2 or 3, characterized in that each leg (70) comprises: - a top (71) articulated on the chassis (2), - a first branch (72) which extends between the top (71) and a 25 first end (74), and - a second branch (73) which extends between the top (71) and a second end (75); and in that : - in the raised position (P1), the first end (74) forms an element 30 of ground support (S) on the rear of the backrest (4), while the second branch (73) is positioned along the backrest (4), and - in the inclined position (P2), the first end (74) and the second end (75) simultaneously form two ground support elements (S) on the rear and the front of the backrest (4). * 5. Chair (1) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the rear part (7) of the base (5) is devoid of spring. 6. Armchair (1) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the rear part (7) comprises a system for blocking the rotation of the feet 70. 7. Armchair (1) according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the backrest (4) comprises two slides (40), a fixed plate (41) and a movable plate (42) between the slides (40 ), to adjust the height of the backrest (4). 8. Armchair (1) according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the backrest (4) is fixed and not adjustable in height. 9. Armchair (1) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the frame (2) comprises two L-shaped lateral uprights (20), common to the seat (3) and the backrest (4). 10. Armchair (1) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the front part (6) of the base (5) comprises two L-shaped legs (60), each with: - A first branch (61) integral with the seat (3) and having a lower end (63) constituting a support on the ground (S), and - A second branch (62) constituting an armrest.
