Abstract

The box has an outer cover made of semi-rigid cardboard, and an inner sheet made of thermoplastic material. The sheet is thermoformed to define upper and lower half-shells (5, 4). The shells extend from a back surface (6). A back side situated under the shell (4) is provided with housing (12) between the sheet and the cover. The housing receives a pocket folder (10) for storing digital data medium e.g. CD.

Description

PACKAGING AND STORAGE BOX.

  The invention relates to a box for packaging and storing sheet products, such as photographs, or a book or booklet.

  The invention is more particularly directed to the storage of photographic prints, resulting from clichés obtained digitally, further allowing the storage of a digital medium of said photographs. But it also applies for example to the storage of software, with its booklet.

  Photographic print storage cabinets are now widely used. They are in the form of rigid packaging, consisting: on the one hand, of a sheet constituting a shell of thermoformed plastic material, defining two profiled half-shells sized to correspond to the dimensions of the objects to be packaged, and in particular photographic prints, and to fit one into the other at the flap of one of the parties on the other, and on the other hand, an outer sheet or cover, made of rigid or semi-rigid cardboard bonded at least at its periphery to this thermoplastic sheet.

  More specifically, the thermoplastic sheet is made of a flexible material, and the two half-shells that it defines extend on either side of a central band, also called back.

  Although this type of box perfectly fulfills its work for the storage or packaging of photographic prints, on the other hand, it is not adapted to receive superabundantly a support of the digital data corresponding for example to these photographs. Indeed, such a support may be in the form of a CD, is usually simply inserted into one of the half-shells with the key to the risk of its inadvertent drop when opening the housing.

  The object of the present invention is to overcome this drawback.

  For this purpose, it is aimed at a box for packaging or storage of sheet products, individualized or assembled (book, booklet), of the type comprising a sheet or outer cover, assembled to an inner sheet of synthetic material shaped by thermoforming, for define two half-shells in relief, respectively a front or front half-shell and a rear or rear half-shell, extending on either side of a central part or back, and shaped so as to fit together one in the other when folded over one another with respect to the central portion, and characterized in that one of the main faces of the cabinet is provided with a housing, formed between the half -coque adjacent and the outer cover, for receiving a storage pouch of a particular rigid support.

  In other words, the invention consists in providing the box with a specific slot dedicated to the temporary storage of a rigid support, and in particular a digital data carrier, such as a CD.

  According to a first application of the present invention, the box is intended to receive photographic snapshots, and the CD stores the corresponding digital data.

  According to a second application of the invention, the CD stores software, and the box is intended to receive the technical booklet and use of said software.

  According to the invention, said facing face of the housing is provided with a slot for introducing the storage pouch of the support, communicating with the housing.

  In addition, the upper end of the storage bag of the digital medium, and the CD in particular, is provided with a non-return tab, intended to cooperate with the cardboard sheet, free at this level, in order to avoid the inadvertent output of the media storage pouch out of said housing.

  Advantageously, the half-shell adjacent to the housing is provided with a positive forming zone, resulting from molding, favoring and defining the housing of this support.

  The manner in which the invention can be realized and the advantages which result from it will emerge more clearly from the exemplary embodiment which follows given by way of indication and not limitation in support of the appended figures.

  Figure 1 is a schematic representation in the half-open position of the packaging box according to the invention.

  Figure 2 is a schematic perspective view of the cabinet shown in the open position according to the invention.

  Figure 3 is a schematic representation in partial cross section of the packaging box according to the invention.

  FIG. 1 shows a box according to the present invention.

  This box is basically made of a sheet or outer cover (2), made in the example described in cardboard, in particular of semi-rigid nature, and an inner sheet (3) made of thermoplastic material.

  Advantageously, this plastic material is made of PVC, PET (polyethylene terephthalate) or PS (polysulfone).

  The thermoplastic inner sheet (3) is thermoformed, so as to define two half-shells, respectively an upper half-shell (5) and a lower half-shell (4), intended to fit one into the other. other when folding one of the parts of the package on the other, with respect to a back (6) consisting of a central strip.

  In other words, the two half-shells (4) and (5) extend from the back (6), the flap of the half-shells on top of one another being made possible by the plasticity materials used.

  As already said, these half-shells (4) and (5) are shaped so as to be able to fit into each other when the box (1) is closed.

  Thus, the lower half-shell (4) engages in the upper half-shell (5).

  The half-shells are further shaped so as to be dimensioned in relation to the products they are intended to package and store, and in particular photographic prints or an educational booklet or technical, or other.

  According to a feature of the invention, and in the example described, the rear face (7) of the housing or cabinet, therefore located below the lower half (4), is provided with a housing (12), defined between the sheet thermoplastic (3) and the cardboard cover (2).

  To do this, a positive forming zone (11) is formed in the bottom of the lower half-shell (4), constituting a kind of projection in the volume defined by said half-shell (4). As a corollary, the corresponding zone of this housing (12) is devoid of bonding bonding of the outer cover (2) on the thermoplastic face (3). This gluing zone is in fact limited to the effective periphery of this housing (12).

  This housing (12) is intended to receive, in the example described, a pouch (10) for storing a digital data medium, such as for example a CD, on which are stored digital images whose prints are themselves themselves stored in the box itself.

  The introduction of this pouch (10) into the housing (12) takes place at a slot (8) formed in the peripheral cardboard cover (2). This slot (8) further advantageously has a cutout (9) to promote the gripping of said pouch (10) by the user.

  In addition, to prevent any inadvertent output of said pouch (10) out of the housing (12), a non-return tab (13) is formed in the extension of the upper edge of the pouch. This ani-return tab (13) is intended to cooperate with the cardboard sheet (2) at said slot (8), not secured to the plastic sheet (3) at this level (14).

  Of course, and in the example described, the dimensions of the housing (12) and the slot (8) correspond, with the game, to the dimensions of the storage bag (10) 30 of the CD.

  It is therefore conceivable the whole interest of the packaging and storage cabinet according to the invention, insofar as it allows a simple way to integrate in traditional packaging boxes housing for all types of elements, and especially digital data support, so particularly suitable for the development of the activity of digital photos or the dissemination of software.

  In addition, it should be emphasized that by means of the box according to the invention, the CD medium is much better protected than with the devices of the prior art.

  Moreover, the box according to the invention allows the handling of said CD holder, without requiring the opening or closing of said box.

  The simplicity of realization of such a cabinet is also conceivable insofar as, to do this, it suffices to modify the thermoforming mold of the thermoplastic sheet (3), in order to provide the positive zone (11) for defining the housing. lo (12), and selecting the particular gluing areas of the cover (2) on said sheet (3).
