Abstract

A topically applied cosmetic composition (I), for stimulating growth and/or reducing loss and promoting regrowth of hair, comprises (a) Ginkgo biloba, (b) mucopolysaccharide(s), (c) Swertia herb, (d) group B vitamin(s), (e) aloe vera, (f) proline and (g) an oil-in-water emulsion.

  The subject of the present invention is a cosmetic or dermatological composition for topical use, as well as a product intended to stimulate hair growth and / or to reduce their fall and to promote their regrowth. Each individual has on average, a capital of 120,000 hairs. The average loss is 40 to 60 hairs a day. An abnormal fall of 100 hairs / day, which denotes a disturbed cycle, is considered abnormal.

  Each hair bulb produces 25 cycles of 5 years each. Each normal cycle has 3 phases: anagen, catagen, telogen. In first phase (anagen) growth is rapid (0.5 mm per day). In the catagen phase, hair growth is slowed down, the hair follicle atrophies; in the last phase (telogen) the hair ended up falling to make room for a nascent hair.

  In men, in the majority of cases, the abnormal fall is of genetic origin. It is linked to an increased sensitivity of the hair follicle to testosterone. By binding, the hormone causes a decrease in the duration of each phase of the cycle. The bulb weakens, the hair is refined and falls faster.

  The current methods to curb hair loss are twofold: by activation of vascularization or by inhibition of the enzyme 5 alpha reductase.

  The subject of the invention is a cosmetic or dermatological composition for topical use, as well as a product intended to stimulate hair growth and / or to reduce their fall and to promote their regrowth.   In this context, the cosmetic composition according to the invention is characterized by the combination of ginko biloba, a mucopolysaccharide, swertiae herba, a vitamin B, aloe vera, proline, diluted in an emulsion of type oil in the water.

  .. q. s. p. The pure aloe vera extract is used in the composition, in proportions of between 4 and 90% by weight, and preferably between 4 and 35% by weight of the composition containing it. The different compounds of this association are not very toxic; this composition according to the invention does not cause irritation of the scalp.

  This composition according to the invention has synergistic effects superior to those of the same constituents, taken alone.

  These actions are also favored by the specific nature of the support used, namely, an oil-in-water emulsion, with an 18% lipid phase, and an 82% water phase. This vehicle, cosmetically acceptable, promotes excellent topical application, devoid of toxicity and no irritating effect.
