Abstract

The marker has one or more indexes formed in a paper or cardboard support (1) also forming a base. The support is positioned in a book. The index tongue is then positioned between the two pages of the book to allow finding of the page after closing the book. There can be one or more index tongues formed by cutting out from the support. A pressure on one of the sides of the support allows extension of the tongue. There can be one or more tongues cut out on each side of the support.

Description

 The present invention relates to a bookmark index used to find a page in a book or magazine.

 The bookmarks that currently exist are at most the height dimension of the pages of the book and are not attached to the latter. If the book falls or is opened too quickly, the traditional bookmark falls and no longer fulfills its role.

 The bookmark because of the additional cost it entails in the production of a book can only be used for luxury volumes with a high sale price.

 Other bookmarks or descriptive indexes can be pasted or pinched on the page to be searched, but with use, the clip or glue deteriorates the page and its content.

 The bookmark presented makes it possible to identify two pages of a book by introducing between them a strip of paper, cardboard or other materials serving as an index.

 According to particular embodiments - One or more indexes are drawn and precut on a sheet of paper, cardboard, or other materials.

- One or more indexes are cut in the outer edge (s) of a sheet of paper, cardboard or other materials.

They are folded inward when not in use.

 The length and width of the indexes can be a function of their number, dimensions and the thickness of the book or magazine.

In all cases, the sheet used to support the bookmark index can be either
Fixed by any means to the book or magazine, in the event of the latter falling or opening too quickly, the bookmark index does not fall or slip and the chosen page is always marked; or according to another variant be added as a free insert to the book.

 The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention without limitation.

 FIG. 1 represents the bookmark index according to a first embodiment in the non-use position.

 Figure 2 shows the same index cut and raised to the outer edge in pre-use.

 Figure 3 shows the bookmark index in use folded between two pages.

 FIG. 4 shows, according to a variant, three bookmark indexes which can be used to mark several different pages of the same book.

 FIG. 5 represents a bookmark index with a special cutout at its end which allows it to mark a set of pages.

 Figure 6 shows an index cut from a sheet that serves as a support. It is shown in the pre-use position.

 With reference to these drawings, the device comprises a sheet or insert (1) serving as a support fixed in a book or independent of the latter. A pre-cut index (2). A pressure exerted on one of the sides makes it possible to release from its support the index bookmarks which raised towards the outside edge thus exceeds the other pages of the book. Then simply fold it inside between two chosen pages to easily locate them when the book opens.

 With reference to FIG. 4, several bookmark indexes can be precut in the support sheet and this in each direction on the three outer sides.

 With reference to FIG. 5, the position of the page mark index is brought close to the outer edge. A wider cut at the end of the index finger makes it possible to cut an additional tongue (4) inside it. The pages are then marked between the bookmark index (2) and its additional lateral tab (4). With reference to FIG. 6, according to a preferred embodiment, one or more bookmark indexes can be cut out on each of the three outer sides of the support sheet and folded inwards in the non-use position.

 The bookmarks index has the advantage of not appearing in relief on its support during the production of the book, since it is made in the very thickness of a page. I1 can therefore be integrated normally in the manufacture of the latter.

 The device according to the invention is particularly intended to serve as bookmarks for magazines, books of all kinds and dictionaries. It can also serve as an advertising medium.

Claims (6)

 1) Device for marking two pages in a book or magazine characterized in that it consists of one or more indexes formed in a support of paper, cardboard or other materials serving as their basis. This support is introduced in a book. It suffices to fold this or these indexes between the two selected pages of the book to find them after its closure.  2) Bookmark according to claim 1 characterized in that it comprises one or more indexes formed by precut in their support. A simple pressure on one of the sides allows them to be released.  3) Bookmark according to claim 1 characterized in that it comprises one or more indexes formed by cutting one or more of the outer sides of the sheet.  4) Bookmark according to claim 1 characterized in that the index (2) may alternatively have an additional cutout (4) which allows it to mark a set of pages.  5) Bookmark according to claim 1 characterized in that the index is made in the same thickness as its support.  6), Bookmark according to claim 1 characterized in that the support can be added as a free insert to the book or magazine. The set of pages to be marked is taken between the index and its support.
