Abstract

The system is designed to give a following driver an indication of the braking progression of a vehicle in front. The vehicle is equipped with a brake light whose light intensity is variable. The change in light intensity is actuated by pressure on the brake pedal and is the variation in brake light intensity is a function of braking time. The brake light luminosity increases with braking time. The system may have different coloured brake lights which are timer controlled and which are switched depending upon the elapsed braking pedal action. The braking light control system is coupled to the driving wheels, transmission shaft or universal joints.
