Abstract

The tailgate (4) and its window (5) are each connected by a connecting rod (43,53) to an arm (41,51) pivoting on an axle (6,8) on the vehicle bodywork (1). The arms fit in a spiral spring located around the axle (8) and fastened to the bodywork and to the arm to enable opening of the tailgate or the window. The pivoting axle is common to the two parallel arms. The two arms form the two halves of a casing containing the two spiral springs which are fastened by their interior ends to a pivoting hub fixed to each arm. The external ends of the two springs are fastened to the same support axle fixed on the vehicle bodywork. ADVANTAGE - Provides simple and reduced cost construction enabling balancing of tailgate and its window.
