Abstract

The invention relates to an assembly consisting of a container (1) made of corrugated cardboard or similar resting on a rectangular goods-handling pallet (6) with which it is integral. In this assembly, the flap (13) is folded against a face of the block (9) perpendicular to the external face of the latter and has a size such that it extends laterally beyond the face which it covers towards the inside of the pallet, the section of the flap (13) protruding beyond this associated face comprising at its upper section a pin, which protrudes beyond the upper face of the block (9) and laterally comes into contact with a slat (7) of the pallet supported on the said block, in such a way as to lock the associated flap (13) in position against the latter.

Description

ASSEMBLY CONSISTING OF A CORRUGATED CONTAINER OR
SIMILAR BASED ON A PALETTE OF WHICH IT IS SOLIDARITY.

 The present invention relates to an assembly consisting of a container of corrugated cardboard or a similar material, resting on a pallet to which it is integral.

The invention relates more particularly to such an assembly in which the container is made integral with a handling pallet without the use of any accessory.

 Many sets of pallet boxes have been proposed in the art, but the cardboard box is usually attached to the pallet by gluing or stapling. Pallet boxes are also known that do not include a pallet proper, but in which parallel planks, made of wood or plastic, are engaged in sheaths adjoining the bottom of the container, which is raised relative to these sheaths.

 All of these known systems therefore require the use of accessories for securing the container and the handling pallet, and labor is required to install these accessories, which increases the cost of manufacturing such assemblies.

 The present invention aims to remedy this drawback by proposing an assembly of a container and a handling pallet not comprising accessories for securing the container and the pallet.

 To this end, the subject of the invention is an assembly comprising a corrugated cardboard container or the like resting on a rectangular handling pallet of which it is integral, the container having a rectangular internal section substantially equal to the external section of the pallet and comprising four side walls, at the lower part of which are contiguous, by fold lines of the elements forming flaps, folded towards the interior of the container perpendicular to the associated walls, the container being supported by these flaps on parallel slats which form the upper face of the pallet, the latter further comprising rectangular blocks of rectangular section, which support the slats of the upper face, this assembly being characterized in that at least two parallel walls of the container extend, at their lower part, beyond the fold line by which the flaps adjoining each of these walls, by coplanar parts applied against the external faces of the pads of the pallet parallel to each of these walls of the container, said parts having a shape and dimensions substantially equal to those of the faces of the pads which they cover, a flap being attached to each of these parts by a fold line disposed along a vertical edge of the corresponding stud, said flap being folded against a face of the stud perpendicular to the external face thereof and having a dimension such that it extends laterally beyond the face which it covers towards the inside of the pallet, the part of the flap projecting from this associated face comprising at its upper part a lug, which protrudes beyond the upper face of the stud and comes laterally in contact with a slat of the pallet resting on said stud, so as to lock in position against the latter the associated flap.

 It will be noted that, in the definition that has just been given of the assembly according to the invention, the container may be a packaging of any type whatsoever, with or without added bottom resting on the flaps.

 Similarly, the handling pallet can be of any known type, with two or four lateral inlets provided for forks of a handling device.

Advantageously, to facilitate the positioning of the lugs at the upper part of the pallet, a fold line, preferably inclined at 450 on the horizontal, will be provided on the flaps carrying these lugs, so as to be able to retract the latter, when the flaps are applied against the associated faces of the studs, and then straighten them to bring them back to the position of use

 The container 1 used in this assembly has a rectangular section and has two longitudinal faces 2 and two transverse faces 3, hinged together by fold lines forming the vertical edges of the container. Parts 4 and 5, adjoining respectively the lower part of the walls 2 and 3 by fold lines perpendicular to the vertical edges, are folded towards the interior of the container 1, to form what is called in the technique of " flaps ". These flaps 4 and 5 bear on the upper face of a pallet 6 and can support themselves a removable plate (not shown) forming the bottom of the container. The upper face of the pallet 6 has a shape and external dimensions corresponding to those of the internal section of the container 8.

 The pallet 6 comprises, in a manner known per se, two upper slats 7 and two lower slats 8 parallel to each other and joined in pairs by studs 9, of which they are secured by gluing, nailing or stapling. In the present case, one of the studs 9 is disposed between two ends of the slats 7 and 8, while the second stud is offset relative to the other two ends. A floor of slats 10, mutually parallel and perpendicular to the slats 7 and 8, rests on the slats 8 of which it is made integral by gluing, nailing or stapling, to form the upper face of the pallet 6, on which the flaps 4 rest. and 5 from the container.

 According to the invention, parts 11, respectively 12, extend downward the walls 2 and 3 of the container, beyond the flaps 4 and 5, to come to bear against the external faces of the studs 9 and cover them. The parts 11 and 12 associated with the studs 9 disposed at one end of the slats 7 and 8 are hinged together by a fold line extending the corresponding vertical edge of the container 1.

 To each part 12 is attached, by a fold line arranged along a vertical edge of the corresponding stud 9, a flap 13 which comes to fold against the corresponding face of the stud 9 by projecting laterally from this face towards the inside of the pallet 1 At the upper part of the flaps 13 protrudes a lug 14, which, in the use position, is straightened outside the associated stud and is applied laterally against the corresponding slat 7, thereby locking the part 12 and the flap 13 in the position applied against the faces of the stud and thus making the container 1 integral with the pallet 6.

 In order to be able to easily bring the flap 13 and the lug 14 into position, a fold line 15, inclined relative to the vertical edges of the studs, for example 450, separates the upper corner of the flap 13 to which the lug 14 is attached from the rest of this pane. I1 is thus possible to retract the lug 14 by folding down the part of the flap 13 to which it is attached, when this flap is applied against the corresponding face of the stud 9, as shown in Figure 3, to straighten then the lug 14 vertically and lock the flap 13 in position, as seen in FIG. 4.

Depending on the shape and dimensions of the pallet 6, the upper edge of the lug 14 may possibly come to block under a slat 10 of the floor of the pallet.

 The invention therefore provides a simple, reliable and easy to implement means, requiring no tools or accessories, to make a container integral with a handling pallet. It should also be noted that after emptying the container of its contents, it is very easy to separate this container from the pallet supporting it and that it can be immediately reused, since it has not been damaged or tampered with by anyone when it has been secured to the container.

Claims (2)

 1- Assembly comprising a container (1) of corrugated cardboard or the like resting on a rectangular handling pallet (6) of which it is integral, the container having a rectangular internal section substantially equal to the external section of the pallet and comprising four side walls (2,3), at the lower part of which are adjoining, by fold lines of the elements (4,5) forming flaps, folded towards the inside of the container perpendicular to the associated walls, the container (1) being supported by these flaps on parallel slats (7,10) which form the upper face of the pallet (6), the latter further comprising rectangular blocks (9) of rectangular section, which support the slats of the upper face, this assembly being characterized in that at least two parallel walls (3) of the container extend, at their lower part, beyond the fold line by which the flaps (5) attached are articulated ants to each of these walls, by coplanar parts (12) applied against the external faces of the studs (9) of the pallet parallel to each of these walls of the container, said parts (12) having a shape and dimensions substantially equal to those of the faces of the studs which they cover, a flap (13) being attached to each of these parts (12) by a fold line arranged along a vertical edge of the corresponding stud (9), said flap (13) being folded against one face of the stud (9) perpendicular to the external face of the latter and having a dimension such that it extends laterally beyond the face which it covers towards the inside of the pallet, the part of the flap (13) projecting from this associated face comprising at its upper part a lug (14), which protrudes beyond the upper face of the stud (9) and comes laterally into contact with a slat (7) of the pallet taking support on said pad, so as to lock in position co ntre this associated flap (13).  2- An assembly according to claim 1, characterized in that the upper part of the flap (13) to which is attached the lug (14) is articulated on the rest of the flap (13) by an inclined fold line (15) on the 'horizontal, preferably 450.
