Abstract

Device for carrying bags with handles at arm's length. The invention relates to a device allowing several bags to be carried whilst eliminating pain and numbness due to poor distribution of loads and saving the user from multiple manipulations and, finally, allowing him to prevent the entire opening of the bags when placing them on the ground. It is constituted by a body (1) having an orifice (2) where pivots a closure (3) which lodges in the notch (4), a grip (5) adapted to the fingers (8) and a release (6) making it possible to insert or withdraw the handles of the bags (7). The device is particularly intended for carrying bags given to customers in supermarkets and other activities using this type of bags, thus allowing them easier and more practical carrying.

The device in fact comprises, according to a first characteristic, a body of round section having a clearance by which the handles of the bags to be transported are introduced, a handle adapted to the contours of the fingers and which the user's hand comes to grip, a pivoting clasp in an orifice which, by pressure exerted by the user, is housed in a notch provided for this purpose in the body of the device, which has the consequence of securing the upper part of the lower part of the device and thereby rendering impossible the untimely exit of the bag handles and also increases the solidity of the lower part of the device subjected to the weight of the bags. Thus, the user only finds himself with a suitable handle grouping together several bags to be transported.

 According to particular embodiments: - The handle adapted to the contours of the fingers can be attached to the device or included in its material, or even covered with a protection intended to make it more comfortable.

- The section of the body of the device may be other than round but on condition that it does not include any edge which would risk cutting the handles of the bags.

- The shape of the lower part of the device can have shape variations.

 With reference to these drawings, the device comprises a body (1), provided with an orifice (2) placed at the end of the upper part (A) of the device, where a clasp (3) pivots. The lower part (B) of the device has a notch (4) where the pivoting clasp (3) is housed for a closed position. The upper part (A) has a handle (5) adapted to the contours of the fingers as well as a clearance (6) allowing the handles to be inserted into or removed from the transported bags. The lower part (B) intended to receive the handles of the bags is free of edges which could damage or saw them.

 This device is strong enough to support the weight of reasonably loaded bags but is also light by itself so that it can be carried in a pocket of clothing or a handbag. The device is stamped or injection molded in a rigid plastic material, or manufactured in a light alloy of aluminum type, or else made up by another process representing the qualities.

According to a variant not illustrated, the initial closure system (2) (3) (4) is replaced by a known system of "carabiner" type provided with a rejection system of the clasp by a simple pressure of the user, between the upper part (A) and lower part (B) of the device
By way of nonlimiting example, the device will have dimensions of the order of 13 cm for the length and 7 cm for the height, this in order to ensure a minimum bulk.

 Finally, for a better understanding, we will refer to FIG. 3 representing the device according to the invention carrying the said bags (7) itself grasped by the hand (8) of the user.

 The device according to the invention is particularly intended for the transport at arm's length of bags encountered in hypermarkets, supermarkets, self-service shops and other businesses or activities using this type of bag. Indeed, the customers assisted by this device will find a solution to the problem posed by the often large number of bags to be transported which require multiple manipulations, for example - Put them in a car trunk, - Remove them then place them in front of the entrance of the building to open the door, - Take them back and redeposit them while waiting for an elevator - Take them back and redeposit them to open the door of the home, - Then finally take them back to introduce them into the accommodation ...

 All while avoiding to see their contents spread on the ground.

Claims (5)

 1) Device to facilitate transport at the end of the arm of bags with handles of the type delivered in self-service stores characterized in that it comprises a body (1) of round or other section, provided with an orifice (2) allowing the pivoting of the clasp (3) which is housed in the notch (4) for a closed position, and provided with a handle (5) adapted to the contours of the fingers as well as a clearance (6) making it possible to introduce or remove the bag handles.  2) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the body (1) may be in any other form of section insofar as it will in no case damage the handles of the bags carried.  3) Device according to claim 1 or claim 2 characterized in that the clasp system (1) (2) (3) may be of the carabiner type.  4) Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the handle (5) is attached to the body (1) Or included.  5) Device according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the shape of the lower part of the device can have variant shapes.
