Abstract

The present invention relates to an ergonomical seat for musicians and particularly for bass players. It comprises a seat part 1 of asymmetric shape inscribed in a hexagon BCDHFG and whose axis XY determines two parts 8 ABCD and 9 AHFG. The rear side 2 is extended by a straight line 3 offset by an angle of 25 DEG , a slightly convex part 4 receiving the left thigh of the bass player, while the part 9 comprises two cut-outs 5 and 6 separated by the crest E and is extended by the convex zone 7. This part receives the rib in the recess 5, the cut-out 6 serving as a support facet for the right thigh of the bass player and allowing a straight-legged position. Characteristic angles beta , TAD and HAF determining tangential points such as T and T', in the middle of the zones 4 and 6. This seat part following the anatomical lines of the body thus enables bass player to play in a seated position while keeping one leg straight, it being possible to rest the back on a backrest 10 with rounded face.
