The present invention relates to a
PROVISIONAL REPAIR DEVICE FOR PIPES
This device allows immediate intervention on damaged and bent underwater pipes; these pipes initially coated with concrete or not
This device makes it possible to stop the pollution caused by a damaged submarine pipe and to completely rinse the pipe without pollution of the environment.
This device also allows continued operation of the pipe while awaiting repair which will require greater resources.
The device includes
10 / A SPEAKER - (E) Fig. 1 - Fig. 2
- able to limit the damage of the pipe
- opening on the lower 2/3 to be able to be placed on the pipe
from the surface
- making an elementary seal on the pipe by two couples
rubberized crowns (J)
- the sealed volume formed between each pair of rubber rings
tees (J) will be injected with epoxy resin (R) to form the etan
finality of the enclosure (E) on the pipeline (C)
20 / A HANDLING EQUIPMENT (AM)
This apparatus may or may not be integral with the enclosure
At medium depths, this equipment will be operated by divers, mechanically or hydraulically
At great depths, this equipment will be fully robotized and will also control the operation of the tie rods (T) for tightening the joints (J) as well as all the valves integral with the enclosure: purge valves of the enclosure (VP) and valves resin injection (VI)
Figure 1 of Plate 1/5 shows a longitudinal section of the device in its essential principle
The enclosure (E) circumscribes a major accident in the pipeline (C).
At each end of the device a couple of rubberized rings (J) are pressed on the pipe to obtain an elementary seal.
The crowns (J) are pressed on the fixed sectors of the enclosure (SF) by pressing sectors (SP) applied by the tie rods (T) only maneuverable outside the enclosure
Whether at medium or large installation depths, the tie rods (T) can be operated mechanically or hydraulically by hollow cylinders
The sealed volume formed between each pair of crowns (J) will make it possible to treat, or not, the surface condition of the pipe before injection of epoxy resin, or any other product, to achieve the final seal of the enclosure on the smoking pipe
Figure 2 of Plate 2/5 shows a pregnant perspective only
At the end, only the upper presser sector (SPS), the lateral presser sectors (SPL) and the tightening rods (T) of the crowns (J) are visible.
To ensure better longitudinal tightness of the enclosure, the flanges (B) of the ferrules can be bolted
On the body of the enclosure, after removal of the handling APPARATUS, the locking elements (OS) and (OL) of the device
These elements can be very variable in shape, number and position depending on the diameter of the enclosure to be installed
The containment purge valves (VP) and the resin injection valves (VI) are integral with the upper shell (VS); variable in number / diameter and position
Guide members (G) are attached to each end of the upper shell by guide cables
Figure 3 of Plate 3/5 shows a front view of the enclosure kept open by the handling device (AM)
The enclosure is secured to the handling device by pins (BR)
The rubberized crown (J) is kept open by the lateral pressing sectors (SPL) integral with the lateral ferrules (VL)
Figure 4 of Plate 4/5 shows an axial cross section of the device
The enclosure consists of an upper ferrule (VS) and two lateral ferrules (VL)
Each ferrule can be fitted with longitudinal flanges (B)
The operating device (AM) rests on the upper shell and is locked to it by the upper elements (OS -Fig.5 and Fig.2)
The device operates the lateral ferrules (VL) to which it is locked by the lateral elements (OL) and the pins (BR)
The operation of the device can be directly carried out mechanically by divers or hydraulically by divers or robotization
Figure 5 of Plate 5/5 shows an end view of the single and closed enclosure
The upper shell (VS) is fitted, or not, with flanges (B); in its upper longitudinal axis are fixed locking members (OS)
The lateral ferrules (VL) are fitted, or not, with flanges (B); on the horizontal axis are fixed lateral locking members (OL)
The rubberized crown (J) is shown eccentric in one of its orbital positions, pressed by the pressing sectors (SPS) and (SPL) actuated by the tie rods (T) whose number may vary depending on the diameter of the pipe on which the enclosure must be installed
