Abstract

The dry cell is cylindrical, has its positive terminal 4 on its upper surface and a base 2 forming its negative terminal. The adaptor for such a cell consists of an insulating cylindrical jacket 5 of standard dimensions, with a base 24 and a top 6, into which the cell is wedged. The base 24 of the jacket is open so that the negative terminal 2 is accessible. A metal cap 20 fixed on to the upper surface of the top is fitted with at least one pin 21 which passes through the top and makes electrical contact with the positive terminal 4.
